Blogging! Uh...Oh! Um..... [Insert something interesting here]

Okay, you got me! I only started this blog because both of my roommates were starting blogs and I felt left out. That is why I haven't posted anything, even though I started this blog around Christmastime.

I've always wanted to have a blog. This blog title copies my brother's "secret" blog title that he opened one year, while trying to remain incognito on the blogger net: "Sesquipedalian Tergiversation". Needless to say, he underestimated the power of news-hungry MKs, and he was found out within the week. Never underestimate the research power of Missionary Kids. We will crush you with our internet-searching capabilities!

Perhaps I should tell you a little bit about myself before I lose you in my acronyms. I am what is known as an MK, or missionary kid. We're a group of kids who grew up overseas, oftentimes in many different countries. As a result we end up a patchwork of cultures which earns us the more generic name of Third Culture Kid (meaning we create our own awesomeness!). Third Culture Kid refers to anyone who has lived in another country than their native country growing up (without actually being a citizen of that country...sort of).

I grew up in Africa, so I got to discover a lot of different cultures and languages. I didn't get out too often (I was of marriageable age, and my brother tried to marry me off to our local baker. I think I just never went out alone after that (especially if my brother was around) ;) ), something that I really regret. But I still saw so much and had a lot of fun experiences! As a result I also got obsessed with languages, started the strange hobby of collecting dictionaries, and, strange fact: whenever I'm tired I start using atypical words. I'm not even sure if I'm using them right, but that is the reason for my title (the random use of foreign or obfuscatory words). Feel free to correct me at any time: I just recently learned that the word "respite" is pronounced "res - spit" and not "re-spite". Took me 20 years to figure that one out.

I'll end it here. To all you MK people out there (more specifically the ones who know me), I've started the clock to see who finds me first. Non-MKs are also welcome to join the competition to show their colors! May the games begin!
